One small tip that supports sober living, shared from real experience, be sure to plan and prepare ahead when it comes to high risk uncontrollable situations. always stay one step ahead of your addiction.
My planned vacation to Mexico, 5 months sober. I dreamt the buildings were all made of tipped tequila bottles and if I fell asleep I’d drink. When we got there, the airport had an entire wall of tequila bottles, the grocery store had a massive Christmas tree display made with rum bottles. My husband and his friend drank at the condo. I LIVED in my big book and slid in “safe” at an AA meeting in Matzalan. They went fishing, I went horseback riding. Another friend took us bar hopping. It was a nightmare, but I made it through. That was 19 1/2 years ago. Always have an escape plan.
Don’t beat yourself up if you relapsed through the festive period everyday is a new day and chance to get it right. 🙏
Xmas / new year a tough one for a lot of people. 2 weeks off, no routine & structure, very easy to end up in chaos if you don't plan ahead.
All the best for the new year bro.
